Description

"A Mencia with a lot of personality".
Fermín Rodríguez UrÍa, a renowned oenologist, has launched his own project to produce wines that express all the typical features of Bierzo, in this case the Firmo Mencía.

This is a 100% Mencía single-varietal wine (about 50 years old) from Valtuille de Arriba, with clay soils, slate schist and pebbles on the surface. It is aged for 12 months in 225l French oak barrels of second use, where it has also undergone malolactic fermentation.

This vintage we find a wine with less extraction and lighter. The tannins are ripe and juicy but very well integrated, with hints of toast and minerals such as graphite.

It is a serious, persistent wine that leaves a great taste in the mouth and invites you to keep drinking it.
